Are there any benchmark tests that show whether using dOOdads slows down applications?

No, there are no benchmarks available because they rarely mimic real-world applications. You are best to do your own benchmarking specific to your situation.
As for scaling well, I've used dOOdads in a few eCommerce applications without issue. dOOdads are a pretty thin layer over ADO.NET, so there is not a lot of overhead. Usually the bottlenecks are due to badly optimized SQL queries.
