Same problem...

Postby handgontour on Thu Jul 12, 2007 10:42 am

I'm having the same issues as above I'm afraid....

I've tried everything suggested:
- Edit default settings manually
- Manually register MyMeta.dll (although interesting I had to use the .Net 2 regasm. With v1.1 it claimed MyMeta.dll was not a valid assembly)
- Started COM+ System Application

I do have SQL2005 installed, although I stopped it and MyGen still fails.
I'm using .Net V2.

Any ideas what else I could try to get it running... I really need it going.

One point to note is that I'm trying to run it on a Virtual Machine. The machine that the VM was ripped from had MyGen working fine. I'm not sure what to make of that. Could it be some permissions thing, as I'm now logging on to the machine as a local machine account rather than onto a domain...?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Greg

mike.griffin wrote:Well, you could try that CheckForNewBuild thing I mentioned above, you could also try this command:

Code: Select all
C:\\WINDOWS\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v1.1.4322>regasm "c:\\program
files\\mygeneration\\mymeta.dll" /tlb:MyMeta.tlb

but I'm not sure that's it. What version of the MDAC do you have installed?

I'm having the same problem. I tried this command, and I got this error:

Code: Select all
RegAsm error: Failed to load 'c:\\program files\\mygeneration\\mymeta.dll' because it is not a valid .NET assembly

As I have VS2005 and .NET Framework 2.0, I tried with this command:

Code: Select all
C:\\WINDOWS\\Microsoft.NET\\Framework\\v2.0.50727\\regasm "c:\\program files\\mygeneration\\mymeta.dll" /tlb:MyMeta.tlb

unfortunatelly getting this error:

Code: Select all
RegAsm : error RA0000 : Could not load file or assembly 'System.EnterpriseServices, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the path specified.

So, I check that error, and I had some strange error during installation of Framework 2.0, so 'System.EnterpriseServices.dll' was not in GAC. I reinstalled Framework 2.0, run again
Code: Select all
regasm
, and everything worked fine.
