    Archive: dOOdads ASP.NET Inline Grid

The Best way to download these is via the MyGeneration.exe Template Browser. Just click on the "Globe" icon and browse to the dOOdads.C#.Web.InlineGrid namespace, if you do this all related files come down with it, so the stylesheet should come down with your template

Full Blown Embedded System.Windows.Forms user interface.
Should work for all DBMS systems supported by dOOdads.
The Grid is customized via a style sheet.
You choose the columns you want in the Grid.
Any columns that are foriegn keys can be mapped in the UI and will become combo boxes
You can choose to have Required Field Validators
     Customizable Date and Decimal formats
Checkbox to set 'MaxLength' for string data types
     Bool columns are elegantly handled
     Many other features included

VB.NET code behind not ready yet

Please, if you have some enhancements post them here on the archive ...  The output is written both to disk  and the output directory, the ASPX and Code Behind are written as seperate files.

This is a new set of template(s) is based on both SBC's and Luciano's (Lucterra Templates) work. This template is the only one I know of so far the supports composite primary keys. I have tested them with 3 way keys involving Guid's, int's and varchar's.  Luciano was a terrific help, finding bug after bug as we unit tested using MSN messenger all night long .... Thanx Luciano

I also used this tempalte to generate the dOOdads example on the  TemplateShowcase, see Demo @
http://www.mygenerationsoftware.com/portal/TemplateShowcase/dOOdadsInlineGrid/Employees/tabid/99/Default.aspx and there are other screens up there for Dependents and Employees.

Request: Date selecter for date fields. (eworld.ui ?) typing in dates is more error prone and hard work :)

I added the project that I used to create the UI to the archive. It's called MyGeneration.zip. MyMeta wont run unless you call the application MyGeneration, thus the name. Anyway, notice the use of the variable "input" which is a has table, when I copy this code in the UI I only copy the code from MyForm_Load() on down. It makes for an extremely fast way to write/debug full winform UI's. Just change the connection string in the Main() function where it creates and initializes a MyMeta object.

Guy's I like the template. Mainly the use of the standard windows from and not the Zeus input form ( not sure what its called is it Zeus?). I did find the zeus interface stuff a little limiting. I'm sure I read somewhere there was gonna be a new version of this.? It's given me some good ideas for how to produce my own custom input form. The template works well. Although I did get an error when I used the generate base page tick box. Maybe I was doing something wrong? You guy's have gone for "cancel , remove and post" however I guess most end users would understand "cancel , delete and save" better? Having the droplist boxes created using the relationships is pretty nice.
