Archive: VB.NET - Enterprise Library - Data Access Application Block - Generate Stored Procedure Class

This template lets you select multiple stored procedures and then will generate a StoredProcedure.vb class for you. The class will contain auto-generated DAAB syntax to call the stored procedures you chose to script. You can choose to return a DataSet, DataTable, DataReader, Datarow, or ExecuteScaler (return nothing). It also lets you optionally type the name of your DAAB connection string and will include it in the generated code. You can create static (shared) methods or instance methods. This template was written against Enterprise Library v 4.1. It can take a while to populate the list box of stored procedure names so please be patient as the template executes. In my case, I had 1500 stored procedures in my database and it took 2 minutes to populate the list box of proc names. Generating the StoredProcedure.vb class though is very quick - almost instant. Hopefully someone will take the template and adjust it to work with C#.NET too. It is pretty easy to follow the template syntax - I split up the template operations into very small subs to make it easier for C#.NET scripters to create a C#.NET version.
